Kay Rubacek is a woman who has faced the specter of communism on multiple occasions throughout her life. Her family has fled communist regimes three times, first from Russia in the 1920s, then from China in the 1950s, and finally from Czechoslovakia in the 1980s. These experiences have instilled in her a deep understanding of the dangers and tactics of socialist regimes, and she uses this knowledge to inform her work today.

Kay`s grandparents were religious believers in Russia, and they became targets of the Soviet Communists after the Russian Revolution in 1919. To survive, they made a dangerous journey over 5 years by foot to China. Her father was born and raised in Harbin, China, speaking both Russian and Chinese. The family suffered famine and tragedy but were fortunate to escape to Australia in 1958. Kay`s husband, David, was 7 years old when his parents left everything behind to flee Soviet Communist persecution in the former Czechoslovakia. They built new lives from scratch in Australia.

Kay has had first-hand experience with the brutality of communism. She went to China in 2001 to appeal for an end to the brutal persecution of Falun Dafa (a traditional Chinese meditation practice). Her legal appeal was holding a banner with only three words: Truth, Compassion, Tolerance, the universal principles of Falun Dafa. She was arrested within 30 seconds and locked in a basement cell. Chinese police told Kay that "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" is illegal in China.

Kay has a background in fine arts and has been working in the production industry for over 20 years. She has produced hundreds of hours of programs for print, gaming, television, and the cinema. Many have won national and international acclaim. Kay's recent works have focused on China, communism, and true stories of courage in the USA. Kay`s family has been personally impacted by the effects of communism, with her grandparents, parents and husband`s parents all fleeing communist regimes in Russia, China and Czechoslovakia. Her firsthand experiences have led her to become an advocate for human rights and freedom, using her platform as a producer to raise awareness about the dangers of socialism and its tactics. In 2001, Kay was even arrested in China for her peaceful protest against the persecution of Falun Dafa. Despite the challenges she has faced, Kay remains determined to use her talents and experiences to make a difference and educate others about the dangers of socialism. She currently lives in New York`s Hudson Valley with her husband and two children.
